The Ghost of Electricity
A new electronic composition for Sampled Trombone and Trumpet.
In these isolated times the least we can do is wave to each other. My good friend Laura provided me with a selection of random trombone sounds recorded on an iPhone, I added a bit of trumpet and threw random chops into a musical food processor. The ideas these activities generated resulted in this three movement "concerto" for trombone, trumpet and electronics. The composition contains nothing but the processed sounds of the brass instruments (except one line in the third movement which is thickened by an oscillator).
Software used includes Slate and Ash Cycles, Kontakt, Arturia's Synclavier V and Roli Equator. Hardware, Arturia Minilab and a pair of Roli Seaboard Blocks.
